Our steel braided lines consist of a stainless steel braided mesh of the highest quality in aviation standard. Even here there are large differences in quality in the choice of materials. We at Spiegler guarantee that only the very best quality is installed and used in our lines.. The inner core of the pipes is made of the original TEFLON, and not a cheap imitation. The connectors and fittings are made only from the highest quality aluminum alloy or the best stainless steel.
Our cables are almost indestructible, are resistant to wind & weather, safe against marten biting.

Due to our modern manufacturing process we are able to produce dimensionally accurate steel flex lines for ALL applications in automotive engineering (motorcycles, cars, commercial vehicles, bicycles...) and industry. According to customer specifications, we manufacture steel flex lines in all dimensions and with the required connections. Lines with pressed connections, as well as VARIO - screwed connections we realize at your steel flex lines completely after customer's request. All connections can be rotated by 360° - optimal mounting guaranteed!

Product information steel braided lines
Our steel braided lines are practically indestructible and are not subject to any wear & aging process. A special seal between the fitting and the hose allows the line to be laid without twisting.
The plastic coating additionally protects steel flex fabric against external influences such as salt, dirt, moisture and brake dust and is also a reliable protection against mechanical stresses such as friction/chafing and vibrations.

Fittings / Connections
Aluminum:
Aluminum fittings are mainly used for motorcycles.
Available in the anodized colors silver, black, gold, red, blue, titanium, chrome
Stainless steel:
We use stainless steel connections for all passenger car lines, as stainless steel is better suited to the heavier stresses on passenger car steel flex lines.
However, you can also choose stainless steel connections for motorcycle cables and custom-made products in the configurator.
ABE and TÜV approval of steel braided hoses.
ABE (General Operating Permit)
Lines and parts with ABE are registration-free. Your exact vehicle type is listed in the ABE. The brake / or clutch hose is marked with a unique KBA number from the Kraftfahrbundesamt. In the event of an inspection, it is sufficient to present the ABE.
TÜV parts certificate
If your vehicle is not listed in the ABE, or if the hoses are installed in a different way to the original installation, you will need a parts certificate.
This parts certificate certifies that your product has been tested and approved by TÜV or DEKRA and complies with the standards.
You will receive this parts certificate from us at the same time.
Note: All cables that are used in our Configurators as special designs / made to measure are manufactured for you, a parts certificate is enclosed for convenient registration with TÜV/DEKRA.
Application areas for steel braided lines.
SPIEGLER steel flex lines are used as brake & clutch lines in motorcycles, cars / motor vehicles / trucks and in industrial systems. Our steel flex lines are also suitable for all applications subject to tensile stress, such as convertible tops or similar.
Our lines are generally approved for hydraulic systems/fluids.
Do I need any additional parts for assembly?
Everything already included!
Our steel flex kits contain all the parts needed for installation - preconfigured. Simply install & start driving!
Explanation of transfer types (SB, Alterntaiv...)
SB: is the designation for Superbike brake lines, suitable for high handlebars.
The steel flex lines are supplied with an extended dimension.
Alternative: Alternative installation refers to an installation method that differs from the original installation method.
In the graphic below you will find many installation types illustrated.
Do I need new banjo bolts for mounting?
No, you can reuse the original hollow screws.
However, you will find banjo bolts in various anodized colors in our store, allowing you to match the colour of your brake hose with the banjo bolts.

Are the fittings/connections twistable?
Yes, the connectors can be rotated 360°, making it child's play to turn them into the exact position for perfect mounting.

How do I correctly measure the cable length for made-to-measure.
If you wish a Stahlflex custom made from one of our configurators it is important to provide us with the correct line length.
To measure the correct cable length (length A1, see graphic):
- For ring fittings please always measure from hole center to hole center.
- For screwed fittings, always measure to the end of the thread.
